The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has rescheduled the 2023 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME). According to Dr. Fabian Benjamin, Head of Public Affairs and Protocol, JAMB, the new date for 2023 UTME is now from Monday, April 25 to Monday, May 2, 2023. This newly declared date now stands in place of the previously announced date of April 29, 2023.
Furthermore, JAMB’s mock-UTME will now take place on Monday, April 18, 2023. The exam was originally scheduled to be conducted on Thursday, March 30, 2023. However, some candidates were unable to sit for the examination due to technical difficulties in some centers. The rescheduled mock-UTME will give these candidates the opportunity to take the exam. Equally to benefit from the shift, will be candidates who were screened but could not sit the exam.
JAMB brought forward the UTME date to accommodate other national assignments and ensure that no candidate is denied the opportunity to exercise their civic responsibilities. The board does not have the liberty to shift the examination date further, as other public examinations are scheduled to commence in early May 2023, and some institutions have stable academic calendars to adhere to. JAMB solicits the understanding of all stakeholders as it fulfills its critical mandate.
